Center Brook Lopez has been limited during training camp due to back spasms and will miss the Lakers' third preseason game on Wednesday. Lopez is hoping to make his debut for the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday against Sacramento.
"I feel like I could go right now," Lopez told The Orange County Register. "It'll be great to finally get in a game and get my feet wet and learn on the fly with guys."
Lopez, acquired from Brooklyn as part of the trade sending D'Angelo Russell to the Nets, will not be cleared to play until he's fully fit, according to Lakers coach Luke Walton.
"As much as I want [Lopez] on the floor for the games," Walton said, "I don't want to rush him back at all."
