Portland Trail Blazers backup big man Meyers Leonard suffered a right lateral ankle sprain before practice on Oct. 25 and on Oct. 27 the team announced he could be sidelined four to six weeks. Leonard's ankle has healed quickly and he is aiming to rejoin the active roster next week.
"[Wednesday] I'm going to do an individual offensive workout, a skills workout," Leonard told The Oregonian. "Hopefully introduce some jumping and stuff off my right leg, more explosive movements. Then just continue to progress. Hopefully play one-on-one [on Thursday]. Hopefully in the next five to seven days I'll be cleared."
If Leonard returns next week, it could be for the game on Wednesday against Orlando, or one of the back-to-back games against Sacramento on Friday and Saturday.
In two appearances this season, Leonard is averaging 5.5 points and 3.0 rebounds.
