The UFC is close to finalizing a five-round main event bout between ranked lightweights Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee, at UFC Fight Night on April 21 in Atlantic City.
Sources confirmed to ESPN the 155-pound matchup is in the works on Friday. The televised event will take place in Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall. MMAFighting first reported the headliner.
Barboza (19-5) is looking to bounce back from a lopsided loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 219 in December. Prior to the loss, Barboza had been on a tear, with wins over Anthony Pettis, Gilbert Melendez and Beneil Dariush.
Originally from Brazil, Barboza now lives and trains out of New Jersey.
Lee (16-3) hasn't fought since he came up short in an interim title bid against Tony Ferguson at UFC 216 in October. The 25-year-old briefly discussed a move to welterweight, but will remain at 155 pounds.
ESPN ranks Barboza and Lee the Nos. 6 and 9 lightweights in the world, respectively.
