A potentially tough break for Jarrett Brown and West Virginia in the first half of the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl.
Brown appeared to sprain his left ankle while being sacked late in the second quarter, and he limped off the field and into the locker room with a few minutes left in the half. If he can't play in the second, true freshman Geno Smith will have to come in.
Smith is a poised kid with a lot of ability, but he's only played significant time in one game this year, leading the Mountaineers to victory against Marshall.
Noel Devine has 127 yards rushing and West Virginia moved the ball well on offense while taking a 14-3 lead early. But as has happened too many times all year, the offense shot itself in the foot. A Brown interception, sacks and penalties have killed other promising drives. As a result, Florida State is right in this game at 14-13 with a half left to play.
