I broke a personal two-game losing streak last week by going against Notre Dame, which lost its third straight. Should I stick with that plan or pick the Irish this week at Boston College? Let's find out:
Notre Dame 20, Boston College 17: The Eagles always play tough in this series, and they have home turf this week. Yet you can't be too excited about BC's chances after last week's home shutout loss to Virginia Tech, and with the possibility of a freshman quarterback starting. The Boston College defense is legitimately good, especially against the run. But Notre Dame has enough weapons to score at least two touchdowns, and I doubt the offense struggles as much as it did against Stanford. I don't see how the Eagles can keep up, as the Irish defense can stack the box against the run to slow down Montel Harris.
It will be close, naturally, but Notre Dame avoids the ignominy of a 1-4 start.
Last week: Correct pick
