CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- It's the one question Miami fans want the answer to: How good will the Hurricanes be in 2011?
It's the one question not even Al Golden knows the answer to.
Miami has gone through two spring practices. Two. They'll put on full pads for the first time on Thursday. Miami still needs a starting quarterback to emerge as the clear, dependable leader. It has new schemes to learn on offense and defense. With "wake-up calls" all over the depth chart, the Canes are still learning as much about themselves as we are about them.
Still there are reasons to believe Miami could still be a contender for the ACC championship. ESPN Insider KC Joyner says that many of Miami's issues in 2010 have easy fixes for 2011.
Miami's biggest reason for hope, though, just might be that everyone else in the Coastal Division has questions, too. With Virginia Tech and North Carolina both breaking in new starting quarterbacks, and Georgia Tech still searching for leaders, the division is wide open.
