The latest target in Tennessee's search for an athletic director is Dave Hart, who's second in command at Alabama to Mal Moore.
Hart was the athletic director at Florida State from 1995-2007. He left after being informed that his contract would not be renewed. At the time, Florida State was embroiled in a self-reported academic scandal.
Hart graduated from Alabama and would be a likely replacement for Moore when he decides to step down.
There have been several reports that Tennessee has already offered Hart the job. Tennessee officials won't confirm as much, although it's probably semantics at this point.
Several close to Hart said he's certainly interested, but is still weighing everything and that nothing is done.
Earlier, Tennessee had targeted Georgia Tech athletic director Dan Radakovich, but that fell through when Georgia Tech's NCAA troubles surfaced. Then it was on to LSU athletic director Joe Alleva, but Alleva decided to stay in Baton Rouge after LSU sweetened his deal.
