Big 12 Heisman Watch: Week 3

No big movers this week in the Big 12 Heisman Watch with half the league off and the candidates on this list taking care of business.

1. Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma

Last week: Off.

Making the case for Jones: Jones' campaign would get a huge boost with a win and a 300-yard game against a fast, talented defense at Florida State on Saturday night. He'll be featured on college football's game of the week, and Oklahoma's status as a title contender would be solidified with a win.

2. Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor

Last week: Off.

Making the case for Griffin: Griffin got a lot of run out of his huge game against TCU to kick off the season, and the Bears are on cruise control until conference play begins on Oct. 1. Baylor won't have another featured game until a trip to Texas A&M on Oct. 15.

3. Cyrus Gray, RB, Texas A&M

Last week: Off.

Making the case for Gray: Gray looked good in the Aggies opener, but Texas A&M has a warmup against Idaho before one of the games of the year in the Big 12 next week, when it hosts Oklahoma State.

4. Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State

Last week: 42-53, 397 yards, 2 TD, INT in a 37-14 win over Arizona.

Making the case for Weeden: Weeden bounced back from a less-than-stellar first outing with a ridiculous performance on Thursday night, completing 22 of his first 23 passes and breaking his own single-game school record for completions.

5. Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

Last week: Off.

Making the case for Tannehill: Like Gray, Tannehill was great in the season opener, and he'll have a big chance to showcase his ability next week against Oklahoma State. This week? Just don't turn it over and Texas A&M rolls over Idaho.

Finally, here's what my ballot looked like in ESPN's weekly Heisman Watch:

1. Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

2. Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma

3. Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State

4. Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor

5. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
