Al Golden needed this. Jacory Harris needed this. Miami, its fans and the ACC needed this.
The Hurricanes regrouped after their season-opening loss to Maryland, rebounded from their NCAA suspensions, and beat No. 17-ranked Ohio State 24-6 for their first win of the season. The fact that Ohio State completed just 4 of 17 passes for 35 yards, no touchdowns and one interceptions is atrocious. It should make Miami fans thankful for Harris.
Harris did not lose this game for Miami. He helped the Canes win it. He made his mistakes in the first half and moved on, and he got what he needed from his supporting cast. Harris deserves credit for that. Lamar Miller was outstanding with 184 yards on 26 carries. And Miami's defense held the Buckeyes scoreless for three quarters.
Yes, Ohio State has problems.
But tonight, Miami was one of them.
