Longhorns make the switch at QB

When your offense hasn't scored a touchdown in a game and a half, coaches don't have much of a choice. Texas sent David Ash to the bench in favor of Case McCoy in the third quarter.

Ash completed his first two passes of the night, but went 5-of-14 for 30 yards after that. He also threw an interception that set up Kansas State's second touchdown of the night, giving the Wildcats a 17-3 lead in the third quarter. Now, it's time for the first look at McCoy in a few games.

Texas got running backs Joe Bergeron and Malcolm Brown back on the field tonight, but leading receiver Jaxon Shipley is still out with a knee injury.

Either way, the Longhorns have to try something else. Ash and the Longhorns scored just three points at Missouri last week and only have three Saturday.

It was time to give McCoy another shot. The two split time earlier in the season before Ash took over as the full-time quarterback.
