BOISE, Idaho -- Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore picked up where he left off last season, but his team hasn’t. Moore led his team from the 4-yard-line into Oregon’s red zone by completing 8 of 9 passes for 85 yards, including a converted fourth down and a 25-yard scramble that took the Broncos to the 1-yard line.
But that’s where the momentum stopped.
Boise State coach Chris Petersen was concerned about the play of his young team in such a big game, and on the brink of scoring the game’s first points it choked. Luckily for Boise State’s offense, its young defense came to play.
