Duke's season has officially become special.
For the first time since 1999 -- a span of 12 games -- Duke beat Wake Forest. At 4-1, the Blue Devils are off to their best start since 1994. Duke's defense lost four starters to injury during yet another wild game in the series. Wake Forest had to play without leading receiver Michael Campanaro.
It's time to start paying attention to Duke again, because it's now within two wins of going to a bowl. With this win, the Blue Devils proved that things have finally changed in coach David Cutcliffe's fifth season. Winning a close game on the road against an ACC opponent? That hasn't been the case at Duke. It's exactly what needed to happen in order for the program to turn the corner.
