Non-BCS links: Ludwig makes a better career move

• In case anyone missed it, former Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig has hopped teams –- again. Now, he's the offensive coordinator at Cal. Honestly, this is a much better move than K-State. I spoke to several insiders who thought he wouldn't have autonomy with the offense there and that he'd really be nothing more than a glorified quarterbacks coach. So, Cal is probably a better career move for him.

• Miami Herald reporter Pete Pelegrin has five questions Florida International has to answer during spring football.

• The Toledo Blade reports that the Mid-American Conference is gaining bonus points for its diversity.

• A YouTube video of San Jose State's Jarron Gilbert leaping from the shallow end of a pool onto the deck has gained several hits and Gilbert hopes some of those are from college scouts.
