WVU lands two commits

The Mountaineers, who held their Gold-Blue spring game on Saturday, picked up commitments from offensive lineman Marcell Lazard (Bloomfield, N.J.) and running back DeShawn Coleman (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory), according to multiple sources.

Lazard, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect, reportedly had scholarship offers from Florida, Ohio State, UConn, South Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Temple, Virginia, Buffalo, Central Florida, Cincinnati and Miami-FL.

Coleman also had an offer from Purdue while Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Illinois showed interest. The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder earned AP All-State recognition for his performance as a junior when he rushed for 2,381 yards and scored 36 total touchdowns.
