Auburn lands first 2013 from Florida

High three-star athlete Lemond Johnson (Cooper City, Fla.) has committed to Auburn, multiple sources report. According to al.com, Johnson visited Auburn for Big Cat Weekend and earned a scholarship offer last weekend after participating in the program's camp.

Johnson, who is expected to play safety for the Tigers, also received offers from Boston College, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, North Carolina State, Purdue, South Florida, Syracuse, Central Florida and Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot, 190-pound prospect was also recruited by Florida, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), South Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA and Wisconsin.

Johnson is the 13th pledge for Auburn. Two other defensive backs, three-star corners Kamryn Melton (Dothan, Ala.) and Jahmere Irvin-Sills (Elkton, Md./Eastern Christian), are also on board. The Tigers' 2013 class is currently ranked No. 9 in the nation by ESPN.
