MTSU gets started on 2013 class

The Blue Raiders picked up their first four pledges during this recruiting cycle, according to Scout.com.

6-foot-3, 195-pound quarterback A.J. Erdely (Cumming, Ga./West Forsyth) selected Middle Tennessee over scholarship offers from Georgia State and Jacksonville State.

Running back/defensive back Marquis Morton (Shelbyville, Tenn./Central) picked MTSU following a 1,100-yard, 24-touchdown, district-player-of-the-year junior season.

Dalton Ownby (Alcoa, Tenn./Alcoa), a 6-foot-3, 280-pound offensive lineman, is set to protect Erdely and make holes for Morton after giving his pledge.

Additionally, kicker Canon Rooker (Richmond Hill, Ga./Richmond Hill) is on board. He told the Savannah Morning News: “I’m super-excited to get the chance to play college football, especially at Middle Tennessee State. It’s a D-I school. It’s perfect for me. It’s what I’ve always dreamed of doing, and I love everything about it.”
