Harrison Butker (Atlanta/Westminster), considered one of the nation's top kickers, has committed to play for Georgia Tech, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“I just finished looking at all of my options,” Butker said. “My parents and I were talking about Georgia Tech. That’s where I want to be. I felt most comfortable with the coaches, I have the chance to be a four-year starter, and I felt most at home there. Georgia Tech just felt right there.”
Auburn, Boston College and East Carolina also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect. Kentucky and North Carolina were among other programs showing interest.
Last fall, Butker made 16 of 17 field goal attempts with a long of 51 yards and connected on 20 of 22 extra points. He also blasted 80 percent of his kickoffs for touchbacks and averaged 39.5 yards per punt.
The Yellow Jackets now have eight verbals.
