Daikiel Shorts Jr. picks West Virginia

Wide receiver Daikiel Shorts Jr. (Elkton, Md./Eastern Christian) has become the 11th Class of 2013 verbal for West Virginia, according to multiple sources.

Shorts chose the Mountaineers over scholarship offers from Boise State, Boston College, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina State and Temple. The 6-foot, 198-pound prospect also received interest from Penn State.

Six Eastern Christian rising senior have made verbal commitments for 2013 including Shorts Jr.. ESPN 150 defensive tackle Kenny Bigelow and four-star guard Khaliel Rodgers are headed to USC, three-star corner Jahmere Irvin-Sills picked Auburn, three-star receiver Dhameer Bradley is on board with UConn and defensive tackle Isaiah Johnson selected Syracuse.
