Broncos lands two from Lawrence Central

Western Michigan picked up a pair of commitments from Lawrence Central (Indianapolis) in bookends Derrick Dunlap and Deshai Powell, according to multiple sources.

Dunlap, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound senior, selected the Broncos over scholarship offers from Eastern Michigan and UMass. Ball State, Indiana, Purdue and Toledo showed interest. He's recorded 13 tackles and two sacks this fall.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Powell also turned down an offer from Eastern Michigan in favor of WMU. Western Kentucky recruited him in addition to the same in-state schools (Ball State, Indiana, Purdue) that were after Dunlap. Powell has registered seven tackles and one sack this season.

Western Michigan now has 12 pledges.
