UCLA lands elite specialist

Under Armour All-American Sean Covington (St. Petersburg, Fla.), the nation's No. 2-rated kicker, has accepted a scholarship offer from UCLA, multiple sources report. He made an official visit to Los Angeles last weekend.

Other programs such as Auburn, Miami-FL, North Carolina and South Florida recruited the 6-foot-1, 175-pound senior.

Covington has averaged 47.5 yards per punt with a long of 70 yards this season. He's also made 7 field goals including 2 from over 50 yards. Additionally, 17 of his 22 kickoffs have gone for touchbacks.

Kohl's Kicking wrote the following on Covington in his evaluation, "Sean has a very powerful left leg... His field goals off the ground are solid but his strengths are his punting and kick off potential... should be able to compete in his 1st year of college."

The Bruins now have 17 commitments in their nationally-ranked Class of 2013.
