ESPN 300 wide receiver DeAndre Woods (Pinson, Ala./Clay-Chalkville) recently committed to Vanderbilt. The one-time Mississippi State verbal spoke with AL.com about his latest decision.
“When I got there, it just felt right,” Woods said. “I just got that good feeling from the coaches and players and everything. I guess I just fell in love with that place, that team and those coaches.”
Woods added, “I’m not only going to school just for football but for my future. Players have to think about stuff like that. You can go play in the SEC and play in the best conference but also leave with the best degree in the SEC, too. It was like a combination of things. I had to go there after thinking about stuff like that.”
“The thing about this time is I am 100 percent sure that I want to go to Vandy,” Woods concluded. “No more changes. This is where I want to go. I’m done with all my officials and that stuff. I’m ready to be a 'Dore and my anchor is down now."
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior has caught 30 passes for 354 yards and four touchdowns this fall.
