More fallout from Penn State scandal

Three-star tight end J.P. Holtz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) has informed his recruiter, Tom Bradley, that he is no longer committed to Penn State, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Holtz changed his mind in wake of the child sexual abuse scandal and he is now strongly considering Purdue and Pittsburgh.

The 6-4, 230-pounder also holds scholarship offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Virginia and West Virginia.

Under Armour All-American offensive tackle Joey O'Connor (Windsor, Colo.), ranked No. 105 in the ESPNU 150, was the first recruit to decommitment after the scandal broke.

Additionally, the Altoona Mirror reports that linebacker Bryton Barr (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), who was slated to play for the Nittany Lions as a preferred walk-on, is no longer headed to Penn State.
