UAB lands versatile ATH Jackson

Athlete Nicolas Jackson (Birmingham, Ala./Wenonah) has committed to sign with his hometown UAB Blazers, AL.com reports.

The 6-foot, 198-pound senior played running back, receiver and outside linebacker this fall for Wenonah. He rushed for 454 yards, posted 246 receiving yards, returned kicks, and scored 10 total touchdowns. On defense, he registered 38 tackles, 11 sacks and one forced fumble.

"Right now, I'm still on the board as an athlete," he informed AL.com. "We'll work that out when I get on the field there. There's pros and cons to playing on either side of the ball."

Jackson said he was primarily recruited by Southwestern Athletic Conference programs such as Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Alcorn State, Jackson State and Prairie View A&M.
