UA Game jersey tour: Edwin Freeman

Senior safety Edwin Freeman (Arlington, Texas/James Bowie High) was presented his honorary 2014 Under Armour All-America High School Football game jersey on Friday.

Freeman, the No. 81 overall prospect in the country, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh-annual Under Armour All-America Game, which will be nationally televised at 4 p.m. ET on Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. on ESPN. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound Freeman is the No. 6 safety in the class. He is considering Texas A&M, Texas, TCU, LSU and others.

“I just want to thank my teammates, my coaches, my school and Under Armour for giving me this opportunity,” said Freeman. “It’s huge, it’s big and thank you.”

Bowie High head coach Danny DeArman fully understands the significance of this honor for Freeman, and the Bowie football program.

“First off, I would like to say thank you to Under Armour for presenting Edwin this opportunity to represent this team, this school and his community. I know that 90 players out of two million this year were selected, so this is quite an honor,” DeArman said.

Freeman is looking forward to the competition in Lake Buena Vista.

“I accepted the invitation to the Under Armour Game because it’s a great learning experience. You get to play against peers that are just as good as you. I’m looking forward to playing against players that are just as good as myself,” he said.
