Leach, WSU get a weapon

Four-star running back Robert Lewis (South Gate, Calif./South East) has decommitted from SMU and made a pledge to Washington State, multiple sources report.

Lewis, who was Southern Methodist's first commitment for the Class of 2012, is now the top rated player in Washington State's class.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder also had offers from Ohio State, Oregon, West Virginia, Utah, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Idaho, New Mexico State and San Diego State.

According to ESPNU, Lewis' skill-set is perfectly suited for a spread offense and WSU's head coach Mike Leach has shown that he's a master of that offensive scheme.
