Under-the-radar safety Mark Meyers (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) has decommitted from his hometown Toledo Rockets and is now set to play in the Big Ten for Michigan State, according to multiple sources. He took an official visit to East Lansing this weekend.
The Toledo Blade previously reported that Meyers' academics prevented him from receiving many early scholarship offers. However, he has gained clearance from the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Bowling Green, Akron and Kent State also offered, and Nebraska was pursuing the 6-foot, 180-pound prospect.
He is now the highest-rated defensive pledge for the Spartans.
