Sergio Medina stays home with Tulane

Senior defensive back Sergio Medina (Boutte, La./Hahnville) committed Sunday to play for the hometown Green Wave, multiple sources report.

According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, Media originally committed to North Texas in December. Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe also recruited the 5-foot-11, 192-pounder.

"The chance to go to such a prestigious university and a chance to play for the city you grew up are big," he told the Record-Chronicle. "A lot of Louisiana kids feel that way. You want to stay home and do it for your state."

He registered a 4.65 40-yard dash, 4.19 20-yard shuttle and 27.5-inch vertical prior to his junior year on the combine circuit.

Medina is commitment No. 23 for Tulane.
