2014 DE claims FSU junior day offer

Class of 2014 defensive end Trent Harris (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park) went to Tallahassee this weekend for Florida State's junior day not knowing what to expect.

He got the normal tours, of course, seeing what the campus had to offer. He met with the coaches and got a sense of things.

But when he was called into coach Jimbo Fisher's office, he was surprised to hear an offer was coming.

"Coach Fisher told me," Harris said. "He said they would love to have me there and will do everything they can to get me there."

Harris, who also has an offer from Boston College, says the Seminoles have moved to the top of his list.

"Most definitely," he said. "I love the coaching staff there."

Northwestern, Mississippi State, USF and Rutgers are teams Harris said could be close to offering soon.

He only has one more trip planned in the foreseeable future, toward the end of March.

"I'm going to UCF junior day on March 23," he said.

Harris said Florida State is indeed recruiting him as a defensive end. He checked in at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds.
