Three-star Al Harris (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas), the son of former NFL Pro Bowl cornerback by the same name, has committed to play for South Carolina, according to multiple reports.
Harris, a 5-foot-11, 158-pound corner, selected the Gamecocks over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida International, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville, Marshall, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, Tulane, UCLA and Wisconsin. Florida, Florida State, LSU and Miami (Fla.) expressed early interest.
South Carolina now holds 10 verbals in its 2014 class. The Gamecocks have another corner, ESPN 300 prospect Welsey Green (Lithonia, Ga./Martin Luther King), on board for this cycle.
