Mayo sits out practice; Lloyd limited

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo did not practice on Thursday due to an elbow injury and an illness, the team announced on its injury report.

Despite the elbow injury, Mayo finished Sunday's win over the New York Jets, so his absence on Wednesday could be related more to the illness.

Meanwhile, cornerback Ras-I Dowling (thigh) and defensive end Trevor Scott (hamstring), who both left Sunday's game and did not return, did not practice on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd was added to the injury report as limited with a knee injury.
