New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard received a second continuance on a hearing that was originally scheduled for Oct. 8, in relation to an arrest in July for suspicion of drunk driving, according to an administrator with the Lancaster County Court in Nebraska.
The hearing had previously been pushed back to Nov. 13, next Wednesday, but Dennard once again received a continuance and the hearing is now scheduled to be held on Dec. 6.
Following the arrest, which occurred July 11, Dennard admitted that he violated terms of his probation from a previous arrest that occurred in April of 2012.
The rescheduled date means that Dennard might appear in court on consecutive days, as he also has a hearing on Dec. 5 in Nebraska to determine whether he will receive additional jail time for violating his probation. He previously received 30 days of jail time to be served in March of 2014.
A second-year cornerback out of Nebraska, Dennard has emerged as a starter and key contributor in the secondary. He has 34 tackles and an interception in nine games played this season.
The two hearings are now scheduled to take place in the days leading up to the Patriots' Week 14 home matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
