Ups and downs for the Patriots

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- An initial glance, a look at which New England Patriots players are "up" and those at the opposite end of the spectrum in the team's game against the Bills:

LeGarrette Blount -- Runs hard and delivers an 83-yard kickoff return after the Bills closed to 16-10 late in the third quarter, which helps the Patriots seize the momentum. Also delivers a 62-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter after the Bills closed to 24-17. The only blemish of his performance is a fumble recovered by the Patriots.

Julian Edelman -- Wide receiver hits the 100-catch and 1,000-yard receiving mark as he caps off a terrific regular season in style.

Sealver Siliga -- Defensive tackle seems to be seizing the opportunity for extended action, playing strong at the line of scrimmage (7 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 sack through three quarters).

Danny Amendola -- Quiet day for the No. 3 receiver which includes a dropped pass.

Logan Ryan/Kyle Arrington/Steve Gregory/Duron Harmon -- A few days after Bill Belichick talks about the team's improvement defending the big play, the secondary gives up a few long ones.

Shane Vereen -- Running back fumbles in the first half (recovered by Patriots) and bobbles a pass in fourth quarter that is intercepted.
