Danny Amendola on Jimmy Garoppolo: 'He's a tough kid and he's Italian, so don't count him out'

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots don't have any plans at this time to add a quarterback before the team's home game against the Houston Texans on Thursday night, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, and fellow ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder tweeted the following on Tuesday morning:

For their part, the Texans are preparing for both quarterbacks, while Patriots players have expressed their confidence in both Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett.

Maybe the best line of the week was delivered by veteran receiver Danny Amendola, who said he ate cereal with Garoppolo at the team facility Monday.

"He's a competitor, so he'll do whatever he can, around the clock, to get ready for this week. He's a tough kid and he's Italian, so don't count him out," he cracked.
