Tom Brady: 'Nothing to worry about' with Achilles injury

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- When New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (Achilles) and tight end Rob Gronkowski (illness) missed Wednesday's practice and then were limited on Thursday, it sparked an obvious question: Might it affect their availability for Sunday's game against the Dolphins?

Both answered that question on Friday.

"I feel great, ready to go," Brady said after practice. "I'll be excited for Sunday. It feels good, just get a little extra treatment. I'm feeling great this time of year, so it will be a fun week. Nothing to worry about."

Said Gronkowski: "I'm good. It was a little illness that went by quick. Definitely thankful for that; that it was super quick. I'm good to go. Had a good practice today."

Asked if he felt his illness was a result of being in an altitude of Colorado and then Mexico, Gronkowski said, "No, just really don't know what it was. I was fine out there the whole time."

Both Brady and Gronkowski were later removed from the team's injury report.

One of the themes of the week has been the need for the Patriots to refill their energy tank after a three-leg, 10-day road trip to Denver, the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and then Mexico. The team performed well in wins over the Broncos and Raiders, and knows it must bring the same level of energy Sunday.

"Being on the road for 10 days definitely changes up your routine a little bit, it definitely does take a little toll," Gronkowski said. "But I feel like we've caught up, for sure. I feel like I've caught up, got some sleep and had a little more rest yesterday, being that it was a shorter day on Thanksgiving. And we had a good practice out there today, everyone was in sync and it went well."

Added Brady: “I think there’s just a lot of energy output, obviously, when you travel and you play on the road. And then we stayed out there and there’s kind of a lot of new surroundings... We’re in a decent place, and hopefully we can take advantage of the time we have to get either rest or more prepared, but I don’t think it’s time for the Celtics game tonight or anything like that. I think guys have got to focus on what we need to do and try to go out and beat a good team.”
