Saints to sign veteran CB Tony Carter

METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Saints will sign veteran cornerback Tony Carter, according to a league source. The Saints are once again thin at the position with rookie Damian Swann expected to land on injured reserve following a third concussion.

Carter, 29, has played in 45 games with two starts during his seven-year career, spent mostly with the Denver Broncos. He spent three games with the Indianapolis Colts earlier this season.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pounder has 49 tackles and three interceptions in his career -- one of which he returned for a touchdown with the Denver Broncos in 2012.
