Saints make four early roster cuts

METAIRIE, La. – Although NFL teams don’t have to cut their rosters down to 75 players until next Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints made four early cuts on Thursday.

They released running back Timothy Flanders, tight end Je’Ron Hamm, receiver Tobais Palmer and outside linebacker Chidera Uzo-Diribe.

The Saints’ roster now stands at 86 players.

Flanders (Sam Houston State), Hamm (Louisiana-Monroe) and Uzo-Diribe (Colorado) were members of the Saints’ undrafted rookie free-agent class signed immediately following the draft. Palmer, a first-year pro, joined the Saints two weeks ago after previously spending time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Diego Chargers.
