Jets wake-up call: Day 13

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- On Tuesday, the New York Jets conduct their final open practice before Thursday night's preseason opener. Practice starts at 10 a.m. ET. A few storylines we'll be following:

  • The mood of the team. Monday was a lethargic practice, with Rex Ryan saying the team suffered from training-camp fatigue. Hey, it happens. Expect a spirited effort in the final full practice before facing the Indianapolis Colts.

  • Rookie safety Calvin Pryor. If he makes it through practice without any setbacks, the Jets' first-round pick should be cleared to play. He returned to full practice Monday, nine days after a concussion.

  • Cornerback Dimitri Patterson. The oft-injured veteran (in recent years, anyway) didn't finish Monday's practice because of calf and ankle injuries. The Jets are counting on him to overcome his injury woes, so it would behoove him to get back on the field. Ditto, rookie corner Dexter McDougle (groin).

  • Quarterback Geno Smith and Michael Vick are scheduled to meet the media. We'll get their take on the first game. Smith will start, Ryan said Monday.

  • Wide receiver Eric Decker. Slowed by hamstring and foot injuries, Decker will try to bounce back after his worst practice of the summer.

  • Getaway day. Well, for the beat writers, anyway.
