Jennings: I'm ready for any heavyweight

Bryant Jennings, a throwback heavyweight at 220 pounds, took out ex-WBO champ Sergei Liakhovich (231 pounds), stopping the Belarus-born hitter at the end of Round 9 at the Aviator Complex in Brooklyn, N.Y. Jennings, from Philadelphia, went to 13-0, while Liakhovich, who looked soft and flat from the start, dropped to 25-5. He is 35, and it may be end-of-the-road time for him.

Jennings, age 29, told ESPN New York that he thought Liakhovich would pick up his game as the fight went on, but he never did.

"He didn't hurt me at all," Jennings said.

Promoter Kathy Duva told me, "We at Main Events had another guy built like him who did quite well: Evander Holyfield."

Jennings said he's not afraid of anyone -- and that includes the long, tall Klitschko brothers.

"I am the best American heavyweight," he declared.

When I brought up a showdown with Seth Mitchell to prove that statement, he said, "Who is Seth Mitchell?" and said he wanted to luxuriate in this win.
