McCline KO'd in Moscow

It might be the end of the line for Jameel McCline, the 42-year-old who has challenged for a title four times and was looking to get back to a place where he could get one more shot.

McCline was stopped in Round 2 against prospect Magomed Abdusalamov in Moscow on the undercard of the Vitali Klitschko-Manuel Charr main event.

McCline got pulses racing when he dropped Abdusalamov in Round 1. A right to the chin put a frozen Abdusalamov, a lefty, right on his butt. He got up, with clear eyes and sturdy legs. Thirty seconds later, Abdusalamov had McCline backing up.

All in all, for 42 years old, McCline looked sharp. He pumped the jab and took the round. But in Round 2, Abdusalamov dropped McCline off a very subtle shot -- a tight right from in close, one that begged a bunch of replays. The vet couldn't rise before the count of 10, and when he got up, his legs looked rubbery.

The Harlem-born, Long Island-raised Florida resident slipped to 41-13-3, and Russia's Abdusalamov went to 16-0, with 16 KOs.
