Rivers says Nets 'could knock off Miami'

With the addition of two of the best players he ever coached, Doc Rivers thinks the Brooklyn Nets have a chance to dethrone the two-time defending champion Miami Heat this season.

Rivers, now with the Los Angeles Clippers, coached Nets newcomers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce for several seasons in Boston, winning the championship in 2008.

"That will be strange for me [seeing them in another uniform]. I want them to do well," Rivers told the Boston Globe. "For a lot of reasons I want them to do well, they could knock off Miami. But it will be interesting."
