Melo: Nets' offseason 'special'

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony likes what the Brooklyn Nets were able to accomplish this offseason.

“It’s special what [Brooklyn] did,” Anthony told ESPN Insider’s Jeff Goodman. “[Jason Kidd] will have four or five future Hall of Famers. I played with him for a year and also with USA Basketball and I know his mentality. He knows the game. It won’t be hard for him to deal with those guys because he’ll put them in position and only have to tell them things one time.”

Presumably, the future Hall of Famers Anthony was referring to are Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson, Deron Williams and possibly Brook Lopez.

During the offseason, Nets GM Billy King -- aided by his staff and owner Mikhail Prokhorov’s seemingly endless budget -- added Garnett, Pierce, Andrei Kirilenko, Shaun Livingston and Alan Anderson and drafted Mason Plumlee.
