W2W4: Nets vs. Magic

The Brooklyn Nets will try to start a new home winning streak on Sunday night, when they face the Orlando Magic at Barclays Center. Here’s what we’ll be watching for:

Seeding: The Nets (43-36) are coming off back-to-back losses to Orlando and Atlanta. It still looks like they’re going to be the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

If the playoffs started on Sunday, the Nets and Toronto Raptors, who won the Atlantic Division, would meet in the first round. Brooklyn is two up on sixth-seeded Washington with three games left. Problem is, the Nets don’t have any tiebreakers, so their magic number is still two to clinch the fifth seed.

Sitting: Shaun Livingston (toe) and Alan Anderson (abdominal) will not play as Nets coach Jason Kidd continues to rest his players prior to the postseason. It’s possible Kidd will announce that he’s going to be resting more guys before tipoff. This is the perfect time for the reserves to take advantage of an opportunity to play more and show their coach they can be trusted.
