MIAMI -- Shaun Livingston is returning to the starting lineup for Game 1 against Miami as expected.
Jason Kidd changed the starting lineup for Games 6 and 7 against Toronto by inserting Alan Anderson and bringing Livingston off the bench. But Livingston will be starting against Miami and could be an X-factor for the Nets in this series.
“We are going to go with Shaun,” Kidd said before Game 1. “Go back how we were. He’s our starter so we’ll go back to original and we will go from there. If any changes that need to be made as the series goes on, we can make them.”
Livingston averaged 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists in the first round against Toronto.
Kidd supports Jax: Kidd was disappointed to see Golden State fire Mark Jackson on Tuesday.
“Like wow,” Kidd said. “We’re not in that situation, I am not there, I don’t know what’s going. But very disappointed because of what he’s done at Golden State.”
Jackson defended Kidd earlier in the season when the Nets were in the midst of a 10-21 start in Kidd’s first taste as a coach at any level. Kidd has always appreciated the support from his friend and a person he considers a role model as a former player who became a head coach without any experience as an assistant beforehand.
“He was a great mentor for me, still will be,” Kidd said. “He will find another job hopefully soon.”
