Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian split after 72 days of marriage.Finally. Kris Humphries has broken his silence.
With Humphries' personal life under intense scrutiny, the Nets' free-agent power forward is looking forward to the future and resuming his passion: basketball.
"The same people have seen me here at the gym for seven years, and they know how I come to work and prepare myself for the season," Humphries told Yahoo! Sports. "I approach my job, my life, in the same way that I've always done here. There's not much different for me.
"… Being in the pop culture [spotlight], and being known by people who don't follow basketball, maybe some of them don't realize that basketball has been first to me. I've always been putting in the time. That's my life. That’s what I do."
Humphries hopes people don't judge him just on being in the Kardashian family for a little over two months.
"I'd like people to focus on who I am as a person for the work I've done with my foundation, for the commitment to the communities that I've lived in, the commitment to the teammates that I've played basketball with," he told Yahoo! "Those are the things that I value, and I'll let other people talk about the rest."
The Nets are currently looking in another direction in the frontcourt, but if it doesn't work out, they could certainly try and bring Humphries back.
He's coming off a breakout season in which he averaged a double-double and finished fifth in the NBA in rebounding (10.4).
