Injury report: Brooks a game-time decision

Reserve shooting guard MarShon Brooks is a game-time decision for Thursday night’s preseason contest against the Boston Celtics.

Brooks has missed his team’s first three preseason games due to right foot tendinitis.

Nets coach Avery Johnson said Brooks went through an individual workout Wednesday, and will participate in shootaround prior to Thursday night’s game. If he has no setbacks, Brooks will get some minutes off the bench.

Backup point guard C.J. Watson will not play. There is nothing wrong with Watson, Johnson said, and he’ll return to the lineup on Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. Rookie Tyshawn Taylor will see time behind starter Deron Williams in Watson’s absence.

Veteran guard Jerry Stackhouse will be out the next 7-to-10 days due to right knee tendinitis and hamstring issues. Stackhouse is “probably” going to have to deal with knee issues all season, Johnson said.
