Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams had to be helped into the locker room after appearing to suffer a right ankle injury late in the second quarter of Friday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls.
After Williams spun inside and missed a shot in the paint, he stepped on Bulls point guard Nate Robinson’s foot and tweaked his ankle. Williams then began hobbling toward the bench in obvious pain. He was escorted by the two members of the team’s staff into the locker room because he couldn’t put any pressure on his ankle.
At the time of the injury, Williams had seven points on 3-for-7 shooting and two assists.
Backup point guard C.J. Watson came in to replace Williams.
Williams later came back to start the second half.
