The Brooklyn Nets will look to avoid a four-game home losing streak when they play host to the Washington Wizards on Friday night at Barclays Center. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.; here’s what we’ll be watching for:
CUTTING DOWN ON THE TOs: The Nets have turned the ball over an alarming 66 times in their last three games, including a season-high 25 times in Wednesday night’s victory over Charlotte. Deron Williams, who has been excellent since the All-Star break, has 14 turnovers over that span.
NEED 20, JOE: The Nets are 13-2 when Joe Johnson scores 20 or more points, according to STATS LLC. That means they’re just 22-24 when he doesn’t. Johnson had 22 points on Wednesday night after scoring just 22 combined in his first two games coming back from a sore left heel. Nets interim coach P.J. Carlesimo has said he doesn’t think Iso Joe is anywhere close to 100 percent, and will continue to monitor the veteran’s minutes.
LOPEZ-BLATCHE COMBO? Carlesimo didn’t use Lopez and Blatche on the court at the same time Wednesday night. But he could elect to Friday night against Washington’s solid frontcourt duo of Emeka Okafor and Nene. Mirza Teletovic is once again expected to see more playing time as Carlesimo goes with his tightened 10-man rotation. That means another likely DNP-coach’s decision going Kris Humphries’ way.
SEASON SERIES: Is tied at 1. The Nets beat the Wizards in D.C. on a double-overtime buzzer-beater by Johnson on Jan. 4, while Washington rolled by 15 on Feb. 8, also in D.C.
