The Monday afternoon hoops roundup

Hey everyone -- hope you had a great Christmas weekend!

There was no local action Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. But on Sunday, Seton Hall dropped to 6-6 on the season, losing to Richmond at The Rock, 69-61. The Pirates were led by Jeff Robinson, who had 17 points, along with 10 rebounds. Seton Hall is now 1-4 versus Atlantic 10 teams this season -- not a good sign heading into Big East play.

Of course, the bigger news on Sunday was that Seton Hall's leading scorer and first-team All-Big East guard Jeremy Hazell -- currently out with an injury -- was shot near his home in Harlem on Christmas Day.

Not many details have emerged about the case yet, but Hazell is already out of the hospital and appears to be OK. That said, Seton Hall and Hazell are seriously considering redshirting him this year -- not because of the gunshot wound, but because of his broken left wrist. A decision should come soon.
