Rutgers will play Iowa State in the second annual Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 30 at Yankee Stadium, it was revealed on Sunday.
It will be the Scarlet Knights' sixth bowl game appearance in seven seasons, after missing out on a bowl last year.
"It is a terrific situation when you can play your bowl game in the greatest city in the world," said Rutgers coach Greg Schiano. "Getting an opportunity to play in a bowl game hosted by the New York Yankees is a great reward for our players."
Rutgers finished the regular season 8-4, 4-3 in Big East play. The Scarlet Knights had a chance to win a share of the Big East championship for the very first time, but lost at UConn 40-22 on Nov. 26 in their regular season finale.
This will be Rutgers' second game of the season at Yankee Stadium -- the Scarlet Knights defeated Army 27-12 there on Nov. 12.
Iowa State finished the regular season 6-6. The Cyclones were 3-6 in Big 12 play, but did beat No. 3 Oklahoma State 37-31 in two overtimes on Nov. 18, the Cowboys' only loss of the season.
