Over the weekend, new Rutgers men's hoops coach Mike Rice secured his sixth verbal commitment for the Class of 2011 when local product Mike Taylor announced his intention to play for the Scarlet Knights.
Taylor, the star shooting guard from Boys & Girls High School in Brooklyn, is the latest addition to a recruiting class that was already ranked the 15th-best in the country just last week by ESPN.
Taylor -- 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds -- "has the reputation for being one of the best shooters in New York who can score points in bunches from behind the arc at times," according to his ESPN scouting evaluation. (Click here to read more.)
Taylor was also offered scholarships by Indiana, Maryland, Illinois, Louisville and Virginia.
